The Attractor Factor

The Attractor Factor

 — By Elena Michaels PhD, CCH, LMFT

Our minds can be used with the creative power in the universe.  This is called the “Attractor Factor”.  What we think about and say to ourselves is what is created in our reality!

What we think about we bring to our lives.  What we say to ourselves creates even more of that thing we are saying.  So if a person is saying they “don’t have any money”, are “looking old”, “getting fat”, won’t ever “find a soul mate” or any number of other negative, limiting statements more of that thing is sure to come!

If on the other hand, we say to ourselves that we are grateful for the blessings in our lives, we remain open to create more blessings in our lives.  When we focus on what we want and act as though it is already ours, we have a better chance of getting it.  Focusing on what we don’t want only brings more of that thing.  This is a simple yet profound truth.  Our minds are powerful and they work to create what we say to ourselves.

When I was fighting for my life after being diagnosed with an aggressive, advanced stage cancer, I started a Gratitude Journal.  Every night I would write in it five things for which I was grateful.  That activity forced me to look at the blessings in my life during a time when I was fighting off the stress and worry of even surviving.

I remember a time when I was so weak and frail that I couldn’t get out of bed.  My son went to the Farmer’s Market and brought me home some wonderful blackberries.  He came into the bedroom where I was resting, sat on the edge of the bed, told me of his adventures there and the beautiful food he had bought there, and placed a freshly-washed blackberry in my mouth.  (He knew how much I loved fresh blackberries!)  The burst of flavor of that ripe blackberry against the roof of my mouth was pure ecstasy!

That evening I gave thanks for having such an amazing and wonderful son who was caring enough to go the Farmer’s Market for me and think of me when he bought those berries, and I was grateful for the ability to taste that fabulous flavor.  Get the picture?  See and acknowledge the little gifts everywhere and allow your mind to use the magic of the “Attractor Factor” to bring more good into your life!

Being thankful for the blessings in our lives and opening our minds to noticing them is always productive.  When we give thanks, we open the way for more blessings.  Enjoy adjusting your perception to acknowledge the blessings you now have and the ones waiting to manifest in your life.  You will be amazed at how you will notice more and more blessings coming your way!
